The Kogi State governorship elections will hold tomorrow, November 21, 2015.
The two major contenders for the state’s top position are incumbent Governor, Idris Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former governor, Abubakar Audu of the rulingAll Progressives Congress (APC).
Security has been beefed up in anticipation of the polls and 4,969 personnel of the Police Mobile Force have been deployed to the state, according to a statement by Force Public Relations Officer, Olabisi Kolawole.
Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase has also deployed the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of operations at the Force headquarters, Sotonye Wakama, to supervise security measures in the state.
22 political parties have accredited by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to participate in the elections.
Other contestants include Philip Omeiza Salawu of the Labour Party (LP) and Enesie Emmanuel Ozigi of the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) among others.
