Unconfirmed Results, APC Maintains Early Lead in Kogi Elections

SaharaReporters citizen journalists have submitted unconfirmed voter tallies from across Kogi State. These early vote tabulations indicate that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has a slight lead over the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State.

Kogi Governorship elections to hold tomorrow, November 21

The Kogi State governorship elections will hold tomorrow, November 21, 2015.

The two major contenders for the state’s top position are incumbent Governor, Idris Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former governor, Abubakar Audu of the rulingAll Progressives Congress (APC).

“Edo is safe, but Oshiomhole collects N500m monthly security vote” – PDP

The Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the performance of governor Adams Oshiomhole, as abysmal.

The PDP organised a press conference on Monday, to speak on Oshiomhole’s 7-years as governor.

Jonathan, PDP Were not Mentally Prepared for Defeat – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has said former president, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and the Peoples Democratic Party were not mentally prepared for the defeat they suffered during the 2015 elections.

Represented at the event by the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Buhari said as a result of lack of mental preparedness, the government of Jonathan could not put the structures necessary for transition in place and this nearly led to a national crisis.

APC Senators Fault Ekweremadu Presiding Over Senate

Some factions of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senators yesterday staged a walkout from the chamberas they fault the ascension of Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu presiding over the plenary in the absence of Senate President, Bukola Saraki.


Saraki had gone to the Presidential Villa to attend the swearing in of new ministers by President Muhammadu Buhari and consequently asked Ekweremadu to preside over the plenary.

National Assembly shutdown for PDP conference

The two Chambers of the National Assembly were yesterday shutdown for the rebranding conference of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) holding today in Abuja, our correspondents report.

The Upper Chamber announced the adjournment of sitting to Tuesday, after a closed door session presided over by the Senate President Bukola Saraki.

Olisa Metuh Only Nurse for a Dying PDP - Senate Leader

Nigerian Senate Leader, Ali Ndume, has described the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as a party in coma and which has no doctor or pharmacist except Olisa Metuh who serves as nurse.

Until April this year, the PDP was the ruling party in the country since Nigeria’s return to democratic governance in 1999 and Metuh is its current National Publicity Secretary.
