Kwara State University Lifts Suspension On 6 Lecturers

The management of the Kwara State University (KWASU),Malete has lifted the suspension order it slammed on six academic staff of the institution.

The institution’s management pardoned the lecturers following a showing of remorse by them.

The management’s decision was conveyed to the affected lecturers through a letter with reference number KWASU/ASSE/PF/565/1/74 and dated 12th November, 2015.
The letter entitled “Recall from suspension” was signed by KWASU’s registrar,Surajudeen Oyebode.
The four- paragraph letter which was exclusively obtained by LEADERSHIP reads: “I write to convey the University’s management’s decision to recall you from the suspension from duty imposed on you as a sanction and transmitted to you through the registrar’s letter dated 3rd November, 2015.
“The management was guided in revoking your suspension from duty following your expression of remorse for your actions as conveyed by you to the Vice Chancellor and in the spirit of KWASU family as well as your assurances of being committed to the sustenance of peace and tranquility in the University.
“By this decision, you are permitted to resume your normal academic duties in the university with immediate effect. “You are, however, requested to always ensure that in future, your actions are guided by the provisions of the university’s rules and regulations”.
Also, the university’s management has concluded arrangement to release the time table for the conduct of elections into the offices of the four labour unions in the institution.
The unions are the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Non Academic Staff Union of Universities (NASU), Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and ASUTON.
