Senator Kabiru Marafa challenges Senate President's order

Sen. Kabiru Marafa (APC-Zamfara), walked out of the chamber over composition of standing committees of the Senate in Abuja on Tuesday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Marafa interrupted plenary session during debate on adoption of 8th Senate Legislative Agenda.

Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the arrest of ex-NSA Sambo Dasuki, for embezzling the funds meant for the procurement of arms for the Nigerian military. 


President Buhari following his inauguration had ordered the formation of a 13-man committee to audit the procurement of arms and equipment in the Armed Forces and Defence sector from 2007 to date.

Startup Miti Health receives $100,000 Bill Gates Foundation grant

Miti Health, a Kenyan startup that provides chemists with business management and supply chain software on Android, has reportedly received a $100,000 Grand Challenges Explorations Grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundationto help it research ways of expanding the use of mobile tools amongst Kenyan private health providers.

Miti Health’s software allows users manage inventory, record sales, reorder medication and generate reports through the Android platform.

LASU students protest increment in acceptance fees

The Lagos State University (LASU) Union, has urged the school management to revert the increase in acceptance fee. The fee, which was formerly N10, 000 has not been increased to N20, 000.

LASU Union Chairman, Mr Adeyemi Onikoro, in an interview insisted that the reduction should take effect immediately or there would be crisis in the university.
