Goodluck Jonathan Finally Speaks on $2b Arms Procurement Saga

Immediate-past President Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday, debunked allegations that his administration awarded contract for arms procurement to the tune of $2 billion.

Jonathan, who spoke in Washington DC, on “Presidential elections and democratic consolidation in Africa: Case studies on Nigeria and Tanzania,” a conversational forum, co-hosted by the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), stated categorically that “I did not award any $2 billion contract for procurement of weapons.”

Jonathan, PDP Were not Mentally Prepared for Defeat – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has said former president, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and the Peoples Democratic Party were not mentally prepared for the defeat they suffered during the 2015 elections.

Represented at the event by the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Buhari said as a result of lack of mental preparedness, the government of Jonathan could not put the structures necessary for transition in place and this nearly led to a national crisis.

3 'Mistakes' Jonathan Made as President of Nigeria - Doyin Okupe

Former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Doyink Okupe, has disagreed with the PDP that fielding his former boss as president during the 2015 elections was an error.
In a Facebook post Okupe mentioned 3 'mistakes' his boss made as the 2015 election drew nearer.
