Senators on Monday shunned the training organised on the use of Facebook and other social media for effective communication on issues relating to Public Policy and Good Governance.
The training, which started by 12 noon, had only 25 participants in attendance. The Senate has 109 members.
At the workshop anchored by the Head of Politics and Governance of Facebook, the participant were trained on how to run live broadcasts and how to optimize the use of a Facebook page.
According to President of the Senate, Senator Bukola Saraki, the workshop was held at no cost.
Last week, a statement issued by the Chief of Staff to Saraki, Senator Isa Galaudu, said the training was in line with the promise of the Senate president to bring about more representative legislature through the use of technology and e-parliamentary tools.
