David Mark Urges Youths to Embrace Sports and Entertainment

Former Senate President David Mark, has urged youths in the country to take to sports and the entertainment industry as means of promoting peace and unity across the country.


Mark who said this at the opening of the 2015 Mark d’Ball Basketball Competition in Otukpo, Benue, said athletes as well as those in the entertainment industry had done so well to unite the country.

Buhari must end fuel scarcity in 2 weeks - Senate

The Senate on Thursday morning gave President Muhammadu Buhari two weeks to end the ongoing fuel scarcity across the country.

The ultimatum was given when stakeholders in the petroleum sector led by the Permanent Secretary, Jamila Shu'ara appeared before the Senate committee on downstream petroleum.

Remi Tinubu Raises a Storm at Senate Plenary

Wife of APC leader Senator Oluremi Tinubu on Wednesday raised a storm at the senate assembly when she sat on the chair meant for Ike Ekweremadu, deputy senate president. 


According to The Cable, Tinubu was rebuked by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senators, when she stood up to speak while standing in the deputy senate president’s corner.

Nigerian senators shun Facebook training

Senators on Monday shunned the training organised ‎on the use of Facebook and other social media for effective communication on issues relating to Public Policy and Good Governance.

The training, which started by 12 noon, had only 25 participants in attendance. The Senate has 109 members.

Senate Will Reveal 2016 Budget Details - Saraki

Senate President Bukola Saraki on Sunday said the national assembly reveal details of the 2016 budget to the pubic.

Saraki said the development was in fulfillment of his inaugural promise and part of efforts to satisfy the curiosity of some Nigerians who had been clamouring that the budget should be made public. “By the time we come into the 2016 budget, at the end of the year, it will be clearer because people will see one item line,” read a statement issued on his behalf by Bamikole Omishore, one of his media aides.

APC Senators Fault Ekweremadu Presiding Over Senate

Some factions of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senators yesterday staged a walkout from the chamberas they fault the ascension of Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu presiding over the plenary in the absence of Senate President, Bukola Saraki.


Saraki had gone to the Presidential Villa to attend the swearing in of new ministers by President Muhammadu Buhari and consequently asked Ekweremadu to preside over the plenary.
